Jessica Sierra American Iodl

Jessica Sierra is the latest celebrity to star in a leaked sex tape - a major porn distributor is planning to release a blue movie featuring the former American Idol contestant.

The tape shows the disgraced 22-year-old in a variety of sexual poses in what looks like a motel room.

The saucy footage was shot earlier this year (07) and will be released later this month (Dec07), reports website TMZ.com.
The troubles are piling up for Sierra, who on Thursday (06Dec07) pleaded not guilty to charges of disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest and violating conditions of her parole on earlier felony battery and possession charges, following a drunken bar brawl in Florida last Saturday (01Dec07).

Local officials claim Sierra, who is being held without bail until her next hearing on 20 December (07), begged police officers not to arrest her in return for oral sex.

Sierra has had numerous legal troubles this year (07) - in November, she was sentenced to probation in relation to an April incident, in which she was accused of hitting a man on the head with a glass at a Tampa, Florida nightclub.

She was also charged with cocaine possession after cops found a small amount of the illegal substance on her as she was taken to jail.

Ancient Limestone Lion Sells for $57 Million

Ancient Limestone Lion

An ancient limestone lion that fits neatly in the palm of your hand fetched an eye-popping $57 million Wednesday - the most money ever paid for an auctioned sculpture.

The sale had Sotheby’s officials roaring with delight because they figured the Guennol Lioness from Mesopotamia would bring no more than $18 million.

The 3-1/4-inch figure, found at a site near Baghdad, had been on loan from Alastair and Edith Martin to the Brooklyn Museum for nearly 60 years. It is thought to be at least 5,000 years old.

The family decided to sell the tiny work of art for financial planning reasons, the auction house said. It was sold through a charitable trust set up by the Martins, and the proceeds will benefit the trust.

There were at least five bidders at the sale. The anonymous winner started bidding at the $27 million mark.

The previous record for a sculpture at auction was Pablo Picasso’s bronze “Tete de Femme,” which sold at Sotheby’s earlier this year for $29 million.

Ford Recalls 1.2 Million Trucks And Vans

Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for nearly 1.2 million diesel-powered pickup trucks and vans. Ford decided to recall the vehicles after discovering a computer software problem that could cause engines to stall.

Ford says the camshaft position sensor can eventually degrade. The sensor is crucial to the vehicle as it detects the position of the camshaft which controls the valves that let air and fuel in and out of the engine’s cylinders.

Among the recalled products is the F-series Super Duty trucks, and 1997 to 2003 E-series vans and Excursion SUV’s with 7.3 liter diesel engines.

Ford says they are issuing a letter to vehicle owners on December 17. The company will replace faulty sensors at no cost.

Charlotte Mall Parking Deck Collapses

Southpark Mall Charlotte

A section of a shopping mall’s parking deck collapsed Thursday and killed one person, authorities said, as holiday shoppers filled the nearby stores.A female driver crashed into the edge of the top level of the parking deck at SouthPark Mall, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police spokeswoman Julie Hill said.

A small portion of the three-tier deck then collapsed, and the driver’s car fell through the opening, Hill said.

There were no other confirmed injuries, Hill said. Two cars under the collapsed concrete were destroyed, Charlotte Fire Department Capt. Rob Brisley said.

Officials are investigating the cause of the collapse.

Meanwhile, a parking garage under construction in Jacksonville, Fla., partially collapsed Thursday, injuring about two dozen people, officials said.

One person was missing, but police did not know if the worker was trapped or had escaped. Search crews with dogs were looking through the rubble.

Misty Skipper, a spokeswoman for Mayor John Peyton, said early searches had turned up nothing, but they would continue until searchers were certain that nobody was trapped.

Twelve men and one woman were transported to Shands Jacksonville, hospital spokeswoman Kelly Brockmeir said. Two were in serious condition, 10 were in good condition and one was in fair condition. Some of those in good condition have left the hospital.

Susan Barrow, a spokeswoman for Baptist Medical Center, said they had three patients, but two have been released and the other is in good condition. St. Vincent’s Medical Center spokesman Erik Kaldor said it also received three injured workers; one was admitted in fair condition, another was treated and released and a third was still being evaluated.

Other workers were treated at the scene.

The collapse occurred as workers were pouring concrete on the sixth floor of the garage for a condominium complex, which is located across the street from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

“I heard a crack, and then it just crumbled,” Rick Caldwell, a construction worker, told The Florida Times-Union.

Mayor John Peyton said at a news conference that the collapse occurred at shift change when workers were arriving and leaving work, so officials are checking to make sure no one else is missing.

The Occupational Health and Safety Administration is investigating the collapse.
